What to Expect When You Sign Up for Learning Letters

A new adventure letter from Pebble the Seal delivered by mail and addressed directly to your child (or classroom!), every other week.

Each letter includes a story written by our team of educators to support reading, literacy, and learning in a fun, engaging way.

Pebble the Seal always welcomes kids to write (or draw!) back – by including a pre-stamped post card and simple prompts each week(he's their pen-pal, after all!)

From time to time, kids will be invited to share their thoughts and ideas on Pebble's adventures through interactive polls and fun surprises (but don't worry, no apps or logins required!).

What age ranges are these letters best suited for?

Children from preschool through early elementary will love hearing from Pebble the Seal! The letters are meant to grow with your child – so if they can't read them on their own, you can read it to them, or invite a sibling or grandparent to help.

Why is Pebble a Seal?

Pebble's home base is Cape Cod, MA so when we were dreaming up the character for this letter experience we asked our readers to vote on the type of animal they'd like to see most! The Harbor Seal won by a landslide, and Pebble was born!

I'm a teacher/educator – can I use the letters in my classroom?

Yes!! We would love for you to share Pebble the Seal with your students! We can address each letter to “Mrs. Robinson's Class” or whatever you prefer – you can leave the name at checkout.

Is a person writing these letters, or is AI?

Our letters are written by our own educators! Each letter is intentionally written by one of our teachers (with literacy backgrounds) and includes developmentally appropriate language, early literacy elements, and storytelling designed specifically to grow with your children. We use AI to help format what we already have, but the ideas, stories, locations, and learning elements are all ours.

When are letters mailed?

Your letters are mailed every other week on Tuesdays! You’ll receive your first letter the week after you order, and then a new letter will arrive every other week for the duration of your subscription. Our first batch of letters will be ship April 14th!

Do these letters support more than just early literacy skills?

Yes! In addition to literacy, the letters encourage children to retell stories, talk about what they read, and share Pebble’s adventures with others. This helps build language skills, confidence, and connection with others (not just Pebble)!

They also explore world geography and culture as Pebble visits new locations around the world in every letter.

Is Pebble a Pen-Pal?

He is! Every letter includes a pre-stamped postcard with several prompts inviting kids to write or draw back to Pebble. This adds another layer of learning and development while building connection with their new friend.
